When using the Active Directory Provider, a user enters his username and password and then must explicitly click the login button to log in.  How can we have the user simply press the Enter Key after entering the password to log in?

Hi Mike. That's something I've been trying to get working for years but because the login is part of a tabbed control the DNN Login seems to take the focus and not give it up even when the tab has switched. If anyone comes up with a trick for me to do it I'm all for it.

Mike, thanks for the response.  We've disabled the default DNN login provider and are only using the Active Directory Provider so there are no tabs.  When the user has finished entering the password, isn't the focus at that point still in the password textbox?  Would it be possible to look for the Enter key from the password textbox?

I've been trying to work this out as well. I realize that it's not a critical issue for the DNN developers, but it's pretty significant from a UX standpoint. If DNN wants to increase their adoption, it's little things like this that need more attention. When I get constant complaints from end users about having to click the login button, it makes me want to find another solution.

See my answer on this Community Exchange page -  http://www.dnnsoftware.com/answers/ci...

In the AD Auth project, it should just be a matter of adding the code below in the onload event for the Login control which is exactly what the DNN platform login control does.

ClientAPI.RegisterKeyCapture(Parent, cmdLogin, 13);
