I'm trying to follow this instruction manual for the DNN Auth module: http://dnnauthad.codeplex.com/documentation

Under the "IIS Settings IIS 7.x Classic Pipeline Mode Setup" section on step 3 I am getting an error when I double click Authentication. There error is this: http://i59.tinypic.com/2ibopcm.png

"There was an error while proforming this operation." and says look in the web.config lin 402.

So I looked at line 402 it reads:          <anonymousAuthentication enabled="false" />

So being that there are only two options for what ever that thing is, I switch to to:          <anonymousAuthentication enabled="true" />and restart the iis service.

But I still get that error.  Anyone have any ideas?

It's been a while since I set it up but, I assume you're running DNN 7.x so you'll need to run the site in integrated mode anyway, have you run the commands needed for integrated mode (in the next section of the documentation? I'm not sure if they have to be run first or not and whether that might be causing the problem (on the plus side, in integrated mode those settings should be set when the provider is installed).

I see that all the time on a server that is set to have restricted access at the parent IIS level. You need to comment out this whole section in your web.config and you should be good from there
