Mike,

Haven't gotten your email yet.  What is the file extension you sent it as?

I think you ought to host it on your site.  I might have layed the ground work but you ported it over to DNN 4.x.  I will provide a link over to your site and you can do vice versa.... How does that sound?

Could someone please summarize what this "fix" will do?  I have AD working on my 4.3.5 server, and it seems to be working reasonably good right now, is there a good reason to install this modification?

I have not used AD in DNN 4.3.5.  I can tell you what the fix does for DNN 3.3.5.

  • All newly created users will now have their Time zone set to the portal time zone.
  • Users profiles are updated from Active Directory every time they access the DNN site.
  • The Display Name field is now populated in DNN from Active Directory.
  • DNN Roles and AD Roles are now sychronized each time a user accesses your DNN site.

I would say to you that if you don't have an issue with the AD implementation as it stands in 4.3.5 then don't upgrade.  These fixes just address issues that users have complained about over time.

Gmail kicked it back at me as being an illegal attachment (it was a .zip). I'll post it up on my site later today and put a link to it here.

Mike,

Sounds good.  I will watch for the link and get it up on my site.  I see you are on the project team for the Repository... What a great module.  You do a great job of answer questions about it.
