I have an intranet site using DNN with the AD login and sync enabled.

Normally my users auto login by browsing to http://intranet/ which redirects them to

http://..../dotnetnuke/admin/security/windowssignin.aspx  where the auto login takes place... works great !!!, but

If one of my users sends the others users (eg by email) an hyperlink to a page on the intranet (which is only available for authenticated users) they won't get to that page without visiting the login page first.

Is there any way to work around this ???

What I did to solve this problem was:

1.  Move windowssignin.aspx and windowssignin.aspx.vb to the DNN root folder

2.  In IIS, make windowssignin.aspx the default page.

Hope that helps.

Also you could set the permission on the entire site as integrated windows authentication and no annoymous access.

What we did was install a 3rd party module to redirect unauthenticated users to the windowssignin.apx.

Read the docs and be careful with this one, or you might lock yourself out of the site. Use the parameter option for the safety net. Set the module so only UNauthenticated users can view the module - don't inherit permission from the page usually.

The reason we chose to do this is that we don't have access to the server folders anymore. I do like the suggestion of moving the files and setting the default page a bit better, myself.
