Hello,

I'm trying to accomplisch the following situation:
By the Internet, people from all over the world can login on my DNN page. As soon as they hit the button 'login', DNN authenticates the credentials with the Active Directory on our Domain. Without logging in, the user can browse the webpage. But only when he's logged in, a 'user menu' appears.

So far I managed to enable the ADSIAuthenticationProvider including domain specifications. No errors. First of all I noticed that DNN handles his own Password Requirements (min. 7 chars). Our users must have 4 char's or longer. 2nd, I get the idea that DNN 'copies' logon information into his own database, this is unwanted. I created a user called Test. When I log in with DOMAIN\test it works. But then it's also possible to login without the DOMAIN prefix. 'DOMAIN\test' has UserID 9, 'test' has UserID 10.

All I want is that DNN checks with the domain if the user/password is valid. If so, show the 'user menu'. In this menu I made an own application which only needs the username to verify my own database.

Is it possible to setup my preferred situation?

Thanks in advance.

No, it is not possible in it's current form.  That is, however, a goal a lot of us are hoping to attain.

You're describing "mixed-mode", so domain users and regular users are two different accounts, sharing the same database.  The username is stored in DNN as DOMAIN\Username, so that is where the problem comes in.

You can use my website's login page (http://www.mapsnet.org/Home/Login/tabid/52/Default.aspx) as an example of the only way I could figure how to attain mixed-mode functionality.
