Hi,

We have Domain User 'A' which has a colleague Domain User 'B'.

A logs on the DNN website using the computer of his colleague B. ( he has to use Forms authentication ).

A does some work with the DNN website, suddenly ( random moment ) the logged in user changes from employee  A to B ( which is the user currently logged in on the computer A was working on cause B let him ). this resulting in user A has lost all his work.

Does anyone recognize the problem I'm outlining ????

Anyone with a solution ????

Sounds like you are using auto authentication, but logging in manually.  Then, when DNN re-authenticates, it "automatically" logs in the user that is logged into the computer.

Wow,

Thanks for the quick reply!

For me understanding; the authenticated ( by forms auth ) user that is logged in on the website gets logged out. The user which is logged in under the domain account ( windows network ) will become the authenticated user even if the user that's get logged out is active on the page, working on stuff ?

There is one other problem:

When a domain user has logged on to his Windows account and proceeds to the DNN website, the user logs in automatically, even this user will  get 'logged out' by 'random' it is strange. This is very annoying because all the user data of the current task is lost when this happens.

Update:
When this happens, sometimes the user can work for an hour without problems.
The problem occurs at random.

When the authentication line is uncommented, almost every HTTP GET call to the website will be run through the authentication process.  This means that if you browse the website, you'll get automatically logged in using the credentials you used to log into the computer.

If you go to the login prompt and login as someone else, it will work for a page or two and then it will "automatically" log you back in with your computer credentials, forcing off whoever you had logged in as previously.  It is designed that way on purpose, so that any visit to any page will log you in  (i.e. without having to go through the home/login page first).

As for the "logging out" part, I've never experienced this myself, but it has been discussed quite a bit before in the forums.  I suggest you do a bit of searching and read up on what was discussed before.
