Hey, is there anyway to set up the blog module so that when the visitor goes to the page they see the entire blog post, instead of the summary and "read more..."

And, if there is such a way .. is there also a way to select which blog post is always shown (ie not the latest post, I want to have a featured post kind of thing happening)

Thanks

JK.

In the view blog module options set the "limit auto generated entry summary" to 0.

You could probably use child blogs to get the featured feature working for you.

An excellent blog module is actually the Ventrian News Articles module. very flexible. You may want to give it a look.

Hi Jay,

you cannot "pin" a post to be always shown on top, but you can display all the entry body without the "Read more..." link. You need to set the Limit auto generated entry summary setting to zero, and make sure that all your entryes get added without anything into the summary textbox. To do this, switch the summary text editor to Source view and remove any empty tags before saving you entry. Please note that I have added a fix into the next version that will make this extra check unnecessary. Let me know if you need further help.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Wanted to add to the discussion the additional question:  Setting the "Limit auto generated entry summary" does work, but then it never shows the really nice calendar icon nor any of the social website "toolbar" at the bottom.

Is there a way to set the Blog Module to default to showing all the blog entires in the "read more" view versus the "summary" view?

PS.  I am a DNN Blog newb and I apologize for asking if this is covered elsewhere.  Please push me in the right direction!

Thanks much,

JMM
