When submitting http://dnnprofessor.com/Blog/tabid/187/rssid/1/Default.aspx as a sitemap to Google, I am getting 10 errors:

Invalid XML: too many tags
Too many tags describing this tag. Please fix it and resubmit

Google notification that the errorsare appearing on lines:

22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, 99, 112, 123

Any Suggestions are appreciated.

TIA,
Buck

Hi Buck,

you are trying to submit to Google the link to your blog's RSS feed. The RSS feed is a data stream that is intended for feed readers and online services, and is not a sitemap. You should submit your DNN website sitemap to Google instead. Be aware that the DNN sitemap does not inclue dynamically generated pages like blog posts, but Will Strohl has a good solution for this.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Thanks Dario,

I have several sitemaps submitted to Google.

The issue is the Dark Web syndrome (all the online data that search engine spiders can't reach, crawl, or index).

That is the reason I wanted to submit the RSS feed for the blog.

Google does accept RSS feeds as sitemaps.

It did accept the blog feed but with errors.

I have, in the past, sucessfully submitted RSS feeds as site maps.

That is the reason I asked the question regarding the Blog generated feed errors.

Here is a link to the accepted formats:

Again thanks for the link to Will's blog post.

Best regards,
Buck
