I have been running DNN V4.8.2 with blog v3.5.1.  I am in the process of performing upgrade testing to shift my site to DNN5.1.

Herein lies my dilema.  I would like to rebuild my site from scratch rather than perform an upgrade.  I am able to export all my blogs from my live site, but I can't find an import option on the blog module in 5.1 (still using blog 3.5.1)

Is anyone able to help?

I thought I would be clever and hack around to the import page by:

  • Clicking on one of the blog settings links until you get an url with a value for ModuleID or MID.  On mine, that was /blog/ctl/edit_blog/mid/454/blogid/1
  • Then, change that to /blog/ctl/importmodule/moduleid/454 (change 454 to the value from above).

That took me to the import page, but when trying to choose the file I wanted to import, I got a message back saying that "The module selected does not support the importing of content."

Oh well... Hopefully the updated blog module will fix this.  Until then, I guess it's back to copying the rows from the old DB to the new one.
