Could you tell me if these features are included in v4 of the blog:

  • tinyURL or something like (For Twitter)
  • Ability for a blog to have more than one Author.
  • With the addition of Categories, will their still be the Child Blogs option?
  • Can a page be setup to show just the Child Blog?  This would virtually allow users to have multiple blogs.

Hi Phil,

I have been playing with the beta release of v4 and have the following answers to your questions.

1) TinyURL - I have not noticed any settings for this.  There is now Twitter integration but it simply passes the DNN url to twitter as is from what I can see.
2) Multiple Authors - I don't think so.  Why would you need to do this?
3) Categories have been added and work really well.  There are still child blogs and the two appear to be completely seperate.
4) I don't think so.  However, you could provide a redirect to the url of the child blog in question.  I think that would work.

I hope that helps.

A quick reply on point 3 above.

A tool to migrate existing child blogs to categories will be included in the next beta release. It looks like you will be able to trigger this migration tool from blog options. More details when the next beta is released.
