I have a requirement to submit the Blog RSS feed to Technorati. However, it is getting rejected due to validation failures in the feed. Passing the Url to the W3C feed validator, it produces the results below.

The site is DNN 5.4.2 running Blog 4.0. It is a Spanish language site. It looks like configuration issues are behind the problem, but can't see any options to fix them. The date format option in the Options Module might fix the date validation problems, but would also change the displayed date formats, so it is not suitable.

Can anyone cast any light on this please?

Sorry

This feed does not validate.

  • line 8, column 17: Invalid email address: [help]

                     ^
  • line 9, column 42: pubDate must be an RFC-822 date-time: vie, 22 oct 2010 11:40:37 GMT [help]

                                              ^
  • line 10, column 48: lastBuildDate must be an RFC-822 date-time: vie, 22 oct 2010 11:40:37 GMT [help]

                                                    ^
  • line 17, column 16: Invalid email address: [help]

                    ^

In addition, interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.

  • line 3, column 2: Use of unknown namespace: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/blog/ [help]

      <channel xmlns:blog="http://www.dotnetnuke.com/blog/" xmlns:slash="http:// ...
      ^
  • line 40, column 2: Missing atom:link with rel="self" [help]

      ^

In the new blog update i see an "option" to inject scripts, maybe this is what you need ?

Hi Costas,

I don't think so. From the validation results, it looks like a mandatory field has not been populated, and possibly a localization problem on the dates.

I have installed the new module on a test server. The problem I have now though, is how to find out the Url for the RSS feed on this server. I can see various configuration options referring to RSS, and it looks as though it is enabled, but I don't know the Url. Any ideas?
