while installing dotnetnuke 4.0 i got following errors after opening the installed portal in each module of WELCOME TO MY SITE, LINKS,BOOKS AND SPONSORS:

An error has occurred.
Error: Welcome To My Website... is currently unavailable.

THEN WHEN I LOGIN WITH HOST following error was there in container of each module ,

Error: Links is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: connectionString ---> System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: connectionString at Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(String connectionString, String spName, Object[] parameterValues) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Links.SqlDataProvider.GetLinks(Int32 ModuleId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Links.LinkController.GetLinks(Int32 ModuleId) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Links.Links.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

i checkout connection string but it was ok and was set for SQLSERVER 2000 as was required.

so anyone could tell me the solution asap plz.

This is most likely because you have not set the value of the SiteSQLServer attribute under the <appSettings> node of your web.config file to match that of the connectionString attribute that was added under the <connectionStrings> node. The SiteSQLServer attribute under the <appSettings> node is used for legacy modules including HTML/Text, Links, etc.
