For aeonblue: When I removed the proxy & port, I got the following error on all the feeds, diff only by source address:

Could Not Connect To http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/rss/hotdeals_rss.asp?ci=2846. You Should Verify The Source Address Is Valid And That Your Hosting Provider Has Configured Their Proxy Server Settings Correctly.

Soooo, that didn't work for me with the version of DNN GoatDaddy has... Glad it worked for you aeonblue.

For Mitch: < "With all of your changes have you always received the same error message?">

Yep, I set up multiple feeds from GoatDaddy, Yahoo, Fox News, Google, etc. just to make sure it wasn't just one feed tanking on me. I guess I been screwed by GoatDaddy.... : )

Thanks for the help, both of you.... Somebody may figure out a fix one day.... sure won't be GoatDaddy Support though... If my website goes down because of an outage, I bet it's Nikola Tesla's fault because even though GoatDaddy uses electricity, they don't support it because it's third party electricity....

Update:
After I left the news modules sitting there for days bitching about the proxy server not being configured blah blah the feeds started working. I didn't do anything as I had let it sit and stew for a while to come back to later but I did check periodically to see if there was any change.

GoatDaddy must have realized I said THEIR feed wouldn't even work on THEIR server so they fixed it. Nahhhh...    Too logical.....   Must have been Obi Wan.

Soooo folks, if your news module doesn't work, as aeonblue said, remove the proxy server / port and if that don't work do as I did just let it sit and bitch for a few days causing a ripple in the force. Then Obi Wan fixes it....

Thanks for the suggestions, advice, etc. aeon & Mitch!

Ed,

This issue (among many others) is the reason why dropped GoDaddy after struggling with their DNN service for around 2 weeks.  I'm now with WebHost4Life and I'm much happier.  No RSS viewing problems, no problems with full trust DNN modules, etc.  If you do happen to investigate WH4L, one thing you'll want to do for sure is to set the module caching to memory instead of disk (the default installed setting for an auto-DNN install on WH4L is disk caching which makes DNN fairly sluggish on WH4L servers.  I've put mine on memory caching as well as added the KeepAlive module from Xepient and enabled GZip compression and my site's nice and fast now.
