Oh, it seems that I have not read the part, that your old web.config works fine.

It should work as far as I know there are no breaking changes in the web.config of these two versions, and if it works with the old web.config, there is no reason to re assign anything, sorry.

I am using always a tool (Compare-IT but it is not free) for comparing the web.config, not sure but I believe there are some free tools available.

Thanks for all your help so far HP,

I've tried to compare the web.config files by eye, but once I get too far down, they are too different, and I do not understand the differences. Is there anyone that can help me?

Sean

I've been having these problems all day as well and for starters maybe I'm doing it all wrong? I've backed up my database and DNN installations respectively. Restarted IIS and it loaded successfully. When I clicked on view your portal... the problems began. I further tried to build the whole sin in visual studio.net and

Build: 5 succeeded, 30 failed, 0 skipped

The errors are mainly

Warning: The dependency 'DotNetNuke.WebUtility, Version=1.0.2181.26190, Culture=neutral' in project 'BuildSupport' cannot be copied to the run directory because it would overwrite the reference 'DotNetNuke.WebUtility, Version=3.2.0.0, Culture=neutral'.

D:\Development\DotNetNuke\Providers\NavigationProviders\DNNTreeNavigationProvider\DNNTreeNavigationProvider.vb(58): Import of type 'DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.IClientAPICallbackEventHandler' from assembly or module 'DotNetNuke.WebUtility' failed.

D:\Development\DotNetNuke\components\Shared\Globals.vb(1444): 'RegisterClientScriptBlock' is not a member of 'DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.ClientAPI'.

D:\Development\DotNetNuke\admin\Localization\LanguageEditor.ascx.vb(55): Import of type 'DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.IClientAPICallbackEventHandler' from assembly or module 'DotNetNuke.WebUtility' failed.

on my localhost/dotnetnuke it just states error!

Please help! where do i even begin... I've looked at the web config etc.
