you got it... just use the <parent>tab name</parent> tag and put ten pages in there and it will create them all.

ok... i'm trying to do this and I'm missing something.

I tried just copying from the export all the <tab> for all the pages I wanted and put them into a template, but it isn't creating them all when I select the template when adding a new page.  Am I supposed to wrap them all in a parent tab that I create?

I've linked to my template file as a .txt if you want to look at it...

http://www.littletonpublicschools.net/Portals/5/template.txt

It should create a page with 7 child pages... but now that i think about it... isn't the parent page defined in all the child page tabs?  so the user will name the new page they are creating and so none of the child pages will be associated with this new page name?

Okay, here's the deal... 1st, I was wrong, you the page.template will not let you create multiple pages - sorry for that. However, I have an alternate solution for you. But, before that lets fix your template first.  download the fix from here and save it on your site as /portals/_default/<templatename>.template

I'm not exactly sure of your intended implementation, but here is my suggestion and you see if it works for you. Run the Site Wizard under the Admin menu then on the template option select <templatename> then continue with the wizard. It will create a tab name "TEACHER PAGES" you can then rename it and re-run the wizard again to do the same thing.

Sorry if this is not exactly what you were wanting. I wasn't aware that the .page.template would not create multiple pages from the template file.
