You can apply settings if you need them to be changed from default. Default settings must work fine.

What I need is:

1) please write the steps to reproduce: (i.e. a) use ctr-C to copy from XXX program, b) Use edit in a text.html module....etcetc)

2) Please post a screen shot showing the result that represents the issue for you

3) please post a screenshot of the result in 2, but please use the SOURCE button from the editor (I need to see the source representing the html that is the issue itself)

Locopon,

I was not able to upload screenshots so I bundled all of the steps and images into a Zipped Word Document you can (Hopefully) download here.

Goal: to move the highlighted text up towards the top under the “…of Washington State”

Clicked Module menu> Edit Text

Drag scroll bar down to text and highlight with mouse.

Drag-n-Drop selected text to the new location at the top of the page.

Review the rest of the page for formatting

Everything looks fine. WYSIWYG.

As insurance and to demonstrate the only work around I have found. I Select (Ctl-A) and copy (Ctl-C) all text.

Then click Update.

Now the Content is all messed up:

And you can see that at the bottom is some sections of the text that used ot be at the top. Also notice that they are all mixed up, includeing text blocks that I never touched on this edit.

If I return to the FCKEditor with Module Menu> Edit Text I see that it is Still Messed up indicating that the damage is done on the UPDATE.

I have the same problem, and fixed it on my code:

On the old code I use:

objProducts.TextField= objPortalSec.InputFilter(Me.txtText.Text, PortalSecurity.FilterFlag.NoMarkup Or PortalSecurity.FilterFlag.MultiLine)

Now, do not use the InputFilter function, everything will be normal:

objProducts.TextField= Me.txtText.Text

I had a problem with FCKEditor and the Wiki module a few months back. An extra line breaks was added to each line in bulleted lists whenever I have had the text open for edit. As far as I remember it didn't really matter if I actually edited anything or not. I couldn't quite figure it out, so I had to revert to FTB ...

Maybe there could be a clue to understanding BOSSupport's extra line breaks in this little anecdote - if not, just forget about it.

It is so frustrating to have the paragragh tags added into all of my html, I am also having to continuosly go back and delete all of the tags every time I want to make a chage to my text. I wish there was a way to keep it from doing that. The fact that it adds them if there are no other tags makes no sense to me becuase if it looks one way in the WYSIWYG, it should stay that way. My example is this:

This is text.
<hr />
This is more text
<hr />
Why are the stupid tags added???

Put this into the source, then click back to WYSIWYG, then back to source, it will add the paragraph tags. I see what it is doing, but when site owners are trying to edit their content, it ends up being twice as long and all 'spaced out', literally.

Is there a way to modify how FCKEditor works to not add the tags? I feel the life being sucked out of me every time I have to go delete more tags out...

Thanks for any help.
