Steve:
You are right, the file are "reduced" by size. I know why I did not see the problem with big files: the 'hfz' files are some kind of "zip files" for video, which includes objects and images. That's strange, the file downloaded does not contain image (it is lighter of course / but this file can still be used and I did not notice it ). ==> reduction of filesize when downloading with repository, for sure !
Have you seen that it works well with the DOCUMENT module ?? Check my dev site (the one I give you creditetial) - I added your file of 256 ko to the document module, check and try downloading it, you will see that it is ok, the file size of the downloaded one is correct
==> It is linked to the download mechanism of the Repository (it also works with the File Manager).
For the " @ " in my path, I agree with you, I asked two times my provider to do something : IMPOSSIBLE they answered...
For the package you propose (modifying content type extension), I would like to test it, YES please. With pleasure if you can provide it to me. I have a lot of confidence in this solution, it may solve ALL my problem !!!!

Congratulations for this discovery !!! I take note of it, maybe this is the problem and may cause trouble hen downloading. I will check with my hosting provider.
THANKS to all of you for the effort, without you, I can just forget publishing my website and doing something else, like gardening for example...
Now, I will:
1- Contact my hosting provider to see if it is possible to de-activate the compression on my site (even temporary to check)
2- Test the modify repository as soon as you give it to me.
3- Contact my hosting provider to check if it is possible temporary to remove the @ and make some check
