I have started creating custom modules for 4.5 and am in the need of creating a library of classes and controllers that can be shared between my custom modules. I would still like to leverage the power of DNN without having to create a completely new library from scratch. What are some of the approcahes to accomplishing this? If there are any examples of such implementation on the web, I'd appreciate it if anyone can lead me to them.

Thanks

Well you could just create a class library that references the DotNetNuke.dll file and then you would have access to the DNN methods.  However, without it being part of a module I am not sure exactly what it will help with, since you will not have PortalModuleBase and other items to populate DNN data.

Thanks,

I've tried referencing the dll file in my class library, but as you mentioned I'm having trouble with the data provider. I'm sure there are many cases where more than one module uses the same functionalities? How is that overcome? Is it possible to create a module that only serves as a library to other modules?

For example, I expect all of my modules to pull "Member" data, I don't want to re-implement "Member" class and controller class in every module.
