Guys,

I hope I am not missing anything...DesktopModules folder is not available in the DNN install. Is this correct. Then why is this created as a virtual folder with permissions ?

Hi Lee,

Are you uploading the install files of DNN straight from the zip file, or have you already run the DNN installation locally and then upload the resulting DNN installation to GoDaddy? Thanks. I'm going to give your steps a go in the morning with a fresh mind.

Im very happy to anounce that they added support for 2 sql databases for premium plan :)

My email is below

Question:
Hello i just purchased your premium hosting plan and installed
Dotnetnuke 4.3 manually with no problem

but i also want to install Community Server (manual installation) (to
manage it fully) as my Forum page

but i know that only one sql supported with this plan

however there is 50 unused mysql db is it possible to replace them with
a sql or let me add second sql database?

how can i purchase a second sql db as add-on and how much does it cost?

Thanks

The answer is below

Thank you for contacting customer support. Unfortunately, you will not be able to replase MySQL with SQL Server or add additional SQL Server databases. The only Go Daddy hosting accounts that will support this, would be a dedicated or virtual dedicated server. *Note: It is recommended to purchase a dedicated or virtual dedicated server only if you have previous experience, as we are unable to offer any support for these services. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way.

Sincerely,

But when i open my control panel this morning i noticed that another sql db support is added

this is perfect

i checked hosting plans to ensure. and whoah 2 sql* (is new)

yupp...

thanks godaddy

now im going to start over new installation manually hopefully i ll success with ur directions

thanks everyone who share their experience on hosting here :)

Upload straight from the zip files. Do not upload the web.config file until last, then upload it to the Config folder! Then do what the instructions say, DRAG it and the url config to the root folder! Good Luck Andre.

ok this is Green again,

im able to install 4.03 successfully with ur instructions

and also able to upload modules

but i need to uplod my specific lang pack to my portal

and ur instructions do not enought to let me do it

i noticed that i need to open new virtual directories for admin, control, and App_GlobalResources and give them read, write permissons

cus these folders inherit permissions from root and root permissions are not enough for writing to folders by DNN

im on it and working hard step  by step

once i succeed ill let u know

do u have any ideas im on right way or wrong?
