I also tried to install the new Event Module 3.02.00, and got a major fault during installation. I had no problem installing it with the previous version of DNN on GoDaddy.

If God does not live in Colorado, I bet he visits there a lot!!

There is already an open issue in DNN support recording the HTML source code issue:

If you plan to install language packs or modules or whatever on dnn you will need write permissions on nearly all folders below the root.
So instead of doing this manually for each folder, do on the top root folder of you dnn installation and make it inherit to subdirectories.

To create, upload and manage language packs take a look at my blogs here.

This is not possible on Go Daddy Shared Hosting Accounts.  There is no control on the root web folder.  You would have to create each folder in the Control Panel Directory Manager (virtual directories) and then assign the appropriate permissions to each.  Most would only require read & write permissions.

Change:

<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly"/> to Off.

If you anybody has made this setting change in their web.config.  Be sure to change it back to RemoteOnly once your site is up and running.  Leaving this settings as Off causes a security hole for your website.

Guys,

I hope I am not missing anything...DesktopModules folder is not available in the DNN install. Is this correct. Then why is this created as a virtual folder with permissions ?

The installer will create the DesktopModules folder during the install.  It didn't used to matter if the virtuals folders were created before the actual folders and shouldn't anymore. I will be sure to add that step to the instructions this weekend just in case though.  Thanks for pointing that out.
