I've experienced the same problem. I don't think it's a specific issue with GoDaddy, but rather something more inherent with the Events module itself. The Events forum seems to have quite a number of posts with problems in installing the Events module.

Please read...

there is a problem with the install to the root on GoDaddy, the Events module fails to install.

I have checked this by installing both ways, to a virual directory and to the root.

the install to a virual directory is good and has the Events module there and working.

the install to the root looks like a good install, but for some reason the Event module fails to install completely. not sure what it is yet, the database looks to have the entries and the files look to have been put in place. but there is a string missing or wrong permissions set on folders for the module to work.

if someone would like to chime in...................

I have it figured out I hope, and this will work for both a fresh install and already installed site.

the Events module fails when it trys to write to the image folder and quits with no warning.
the image folder in the root needs permissions set on it also, Read, Write and Web.

for a fresh install, make a "image" folder with Read, Write and Web permissions.

for a already installed site,
1. make a "image" folder with Read, Write and Web permissions on GoDaddy.
2. login DNN as host, go to Host > Module Definitions
3. at bottom click "upload new module", browse to install file on your computer ???\DotNetNuke_4.3.1_Install\Install\Module\Events_3.2_Install.zip, click "add" and wait for it to enter box, then click "upload new file".
this will reinstall the Events module and you will get fails on the database only, because the entries are already there.

this does work, I have done it both ways.

Hi,

I need some help.  I believe I've followed the posted instructions, but I am not getting very far.  I started with a fresh database and added the required directories with appropriate permissions.

But when I load the sire, this is all I get.

My website, is www.pokerzealots.com

Any help would be appreciated.

Chris
