Hello all,

Just to put in knowledge to any of you that are experimenting the same problem.

    I tried the following:

   - Change compression behaviour

   - Change caching

  - Enable/Disable whitespace filtering.

  - Clear cache

 - Restarting application

 - Change skins for modules and pages

None of these things was successful.   Finally I decided to act drastically, and I eliminated the child portal, and start it again from scratch.  That was the ultimate decision, but I haven't had any other.

Now the HTML/TEXT works OK, anyway I don't know what could be happened.

Thanks Locopon for all your help on this.

  Kind regards,

  Peter

Now that I started the portal from scratch I observe that the path for images is different in the new build of the portal.

When I had the problem with the HTML/TEXT the paths were as:

    "images/image1.jpg"

, now they become:

  "Portal[ID]/images/image1.jpg"

, I'm suggesting that MAYBE the way of correcting the problem is not to start the portal from scratch, like I did, but change that manually on the image paths.

Thanks,

Peter

I had same problem

my fix seems to be

create a new portal and accept the default home directory

before i customized this to Portals/myname
and i got this exception
love to know why..

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: StartIndex cannot be less than zero.
Parameter name: startIndex ---> System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: StartIndex cannot be less than zero.
Parameter name: startIndex at System.String.InternalSubStringWithChecks(Int32 startIndex, Int32
 length, Boolean fAlwaysCopy) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Html.HtmlModule.ManageUploadDirectory(String
 strHTML, String strUploadDirectory) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Html.HtmlModule.Page_Load.....

I'm fairly new to dotnetnuke but i've figured out that the problem displaying images in HTML/text modules

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: StartIndex cannot be less than zero.
Parameter name: startIndex ---> System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: StartIndex cannot be less than zero.
Parameter name: startIndex at System.String.InternalSubStringWithChecks(Int32 startIndex, Int32
 length, Boolean fAlwaysCopy) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Html.HtmlModule.ManageUploadDirectory(String
 strHTML, String strUploadDirectory) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Html.HtmlModule.Page_Load.....

all stems from one minor problem - capitalization when creating a new portal

portals/mychild will cause the above error

Portals/mychild will work fine

and accepting the default name (a number works of course)

it's details like this that are sorely missing from dotnetnuke.coms online help

and adding this to the relevent ? on the edit page would be even better

steve
