That is the source. It's the same file that's stuck in the Release Tracker. All the .vb files are in the .resources file in the .zip. You can install it just like the AD Provider under Host->Host Settings->Authentication Services and the .resources file will automatically be extracted. Or you can rename the file to .zip and open it that way. http://dnn.gmss.org/ADProvider/tabid/314/Default.aspx

Thanks Mike for your prompt reply. It sounds interesting this IP range (or Subnet) functionality your mentioning. So we will have to wait till this is released. Till then we will that you are suggesting above this will for sure cover the requirement till the next module release.

Thanks,

Antonis

Yes it'll have to wait until the next release. We've discovered a "bug" when a user has their cookies turned off it goes into an infinite loop that I need to work out. However, yes the suggestion above will work as that's how we've been running our school's site since we started using the AD provider a year ago.

Thanks Mike. Do you have to re-upload your skins after the update and then reapply them to each page and module? I've done a lot of customization.

No you won't have to update, re-upload anything. As long as you follow the instructions above you should be set.

"The commented out line is from the old provider. When the new one is installed it'll automatically add the correct line at the bottom of the httpModules section so I'm guessing you might have two lines with the same info in them. That may be part of the problem. As for the failures and info not being added to the DNN profile you may have to use impersonation on the site. Look for the commented out section in your web.config that starts . Uncomment that line only and change it so that it looks like . The user you use in that line will have to have the same rights to your DNN folder that NETWORK SERVICE has.Actually it is working fine now.  I thought they would've updated the web.config to use the new provider but I guess not.  I don't have two lines, I commented out the old one and inserted the one from your blog post.

The new line is added to the web.config when the provider is installed. If you look at the .dnn file you'll see how it's done. The old line is supposed to be removed but it looks like there's a bug in the provider installer that's been written. I think it's because the line is commented out already that it isn't removed.

I'm just waiting for someone on the core team to release the code here on DNN but if you want it you can find it on my website http://dnn.gmss.org."

Ahhh, so THAT is what was going on...  Darn users paranoid about cookies!
