I have an xp machine where I have installed sql 2005 express, iis 5.1.  I unzipped the source into a folder called C:\dotnetnukedotnetnuke\DotNetNuke_04.08.00_Source.  I followed the dot net nuke book and it tells me that I have to configure the web.config file to use the sql 2000.  If I am using sql express do I have to use the section called sql express and does anyone know what it should look like.  When I try to install from my current setup it says page not found.  Please help.

you need to configure an IIS virtual directory pointing to the installation directory and adjust file system permissions for Virtual user ASPNET, afterwards, database configuration will be done by the installation wizard, which is quite new and might not be covered by the book.

I have iis installed.  When I go int here I look at the tree and I see default website and then in a sub set there is dotnetnuke.  the dotnetnuke part is pointed to my folder where I have the files.  The top folder which is default website is pointed at c:\inetpub\wwwroot. Is that ok?  I have the permissions assigned to the folder already.  my config file is configured under the part where it says sql 2005 but I am using sql 2005 express.  There is a part in the config file that is labeled that.  Is that ok the way I have it?

Is the DNN folder in IIS configured as an application?
