Where is it installing the LiveID.dll?

I opened up the  bin folder of my DNN installation and copied the LiveID.dll by hand to bin/Providers still no luck.

Is there possibly a missing web.config entry that points to the LiveID.dll that is missing?

Open the AuthenticationTypes table in your database (I think that's the name (I just shut down my dev system) but for sure it starts with Authentication). Find the rows for LiveID and OpenID and set the enabled fields to false. That should do the trick. Do it for both as if you just do it for LiveID you'll probably have the same error for OpenID.

Once you get in check the eventviewer and post any error messages that may have been created when you ran the install. I'd be interested in seeing why it didn't install the providers.

There's more to it than just the .dll. A directory is also created under DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices called LiveID. I initially thought you were trying to re-install through the Host Settings page but I see from your other post that you weren't.

Thank you I was able to log in.

I dug through the event viewer did not find an error during installation

Note: That event viewer needs a filter setting for date and time.

Found the event for the installation and it said it was sucessful.

Most of my Modules are broke as well I am having to reinstall all but the HTML.

around 13 hours now almost have it back up.
