We're very close to releasing a Text/HTML provider which will initially support editing exisitng pages.  It's actually included in the hotfix I just uploaded to Snowcovered.

Great question regarding the development of custom metaPost providers.  I've created the provider infrastructure based on an interface named IMetaPostProvider which can be implemented by a module developer just like you would implement ISearchable or any other interface.  The library which contains the interface also contains helper methods to make it as easy as possible to create a custom provider.  As we are getting started, we'll build as many providers as we can in the time we have available in hopes that the community will jump on board and begin contributing to the effort by writing their own providers.  I would actually like to write a few more before I officially release the provider infrastructure to the community since I want it to be as stable and feature rich as possible.  We believe the approach we have taken will provide significant advantage to the hundreds of content related module developers out there, since creating an infrastructure like metaPost is a time-consuming process.  One of our design goals in developing the metaPost infrastructure was to make sure that it would support two models of deployment:  internal providers deployed with metaPost and external providers deployed or built into third party modules.  metaPost will automatically pick up a third party module which implements the IMetaPostProvider interface.  As long as metaPost is installed and a third party module contains a library which implements the IMetaPostProvider interface, users are immediately able to begin publishing to the module with Windows Live Writer.  The design of the metaPost infrastructure also makes it possible for third party module developers to ship their own Windows Live Writer manifest files.  This ensures that at a the level of each provider, key features inside of Windows Live Writer can be enabled or disabled.

Don

OK, We just release 1.1.6 to Snowcovered which includes two new providers:  Text/HTML and FAQs.

There are two short videos in the video section here which demo each provider.

Try it here, or download it here.  The community edition is free.

Have fun metaPosting!

Is Live Writer still a requirement if you choose to use Word?  Can you provide an example showing metaPost with TextHTML & Word?

Thanks...

I was able to post to DNN Blog and Text/HTML.  It worked great.  Thanks Don.

Any plan/schedule to release the provider for DNN Annoucements and DNN Forum module?  What will be the different between Community and Profesional version?

Don,

Just wanted to check this before I go ahead and install this. Does this run fine alongside digimeta? I'm thinking it'd be handy if I can have both modules in operation and users can switch between them depending on exact needs.
