Where is my databases? I have 2 different DotNetNuke installations on this machine running very well but in the db management tool I cannot find my databases ... I am positive that they are there somewhere collecting/holding data but why doesn't they appear in the SQL Express management tool?

My connection string is the classic:

    <add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

which says there should be at least one databse --> Database.mdf

Doesn't this .mdf file appear in the SQL Express management tool ? Here is my control view:

I found it ... one has to attach the databas file first ... on the databasefolder you right klick and choose attach and the point out the database which is lying in the App_data folder

I just wanted to comment on this as well, awesome job illustrating the issue.

The attachment of a database for management when using the dynamic attachment method is very tricky the first few times you use it.  I personally NEVER use this method as I find it creates more problems and confusion for me in the long run.
