I need some help with this too. I know what skin I have but I cant follow your instructions about how to get into the properties so I can delete the line about the search box. Would someone mind writing very specifically how to get in to edit a skin. Starting from where? I only use DNN about every 6 months so I am a little rusty in navigating my way around. Thanks in advance! joanie

Do you have an access to the DNN site folder?(Yeah, the website folder.) If so, do the followings:

1. Open "Portals" folder
2. Open _Default folder
3. Open "Skins" folder
4. Open the skin folder you are using. By default, it's DNN-Blue. In that case, click "DNN-Blue" folder. You can find what you are using for a skin by clicking "Admin>Site Setting" or "Host>Site Setting"
5. Open the skin file you are using, By default, it's Horizontal Menu- Fixed Width.ascx
6. Search the text "<dnn:SEARCH runat="server" id="dnnSEARCH" showWeb="True" showSite="True" />". and delete it.

I can't possibly make it easier than this lol. well.... i could paste screenshots but im too lazy :P
