OK i copied over what I already had and then copied all my add key strings into the new web.config.  BUT I do not think that is what I was supposed to do.  I was rewarded with the default DNN 2.1.2 page.  Do I need to change all my add key stuff to the data strings under the dotnetnuke section now?

Were you pointing to the same database?

Well if the web.config still uses the add key format for my SQL connection strings, then yes.  If i need to convertthese to data providers, then no.  Here is an example of what I copied over into the appSettings section (names have ben changed to protect the innocent):

<add key="connectionString" value="Server=remoteserver;Database=web_Vault;uid=user;pwd=hidden;Packet Size=4096;" />

<add key="GT1" value="Server=remoteserver;Database=web_Vault;uid=user;pwd=hidden;Packet Size=4096;"/>

<add key="GT" value="Server=remoteserver;Database=GT;uid=user;pwd=hidden;Packet Size=4096;"/>

<add key="CDStandardData" value="Server=remoteserver;DataBase=CDStandardData;uid=user;pwd=hidden;Packet Size=4096;"/>

I think you get the drift.  Do these need to be changed to data providers in the new web.config file or will they work like they are?
