Is the “dotnetnuke” folder necessary?

I had the hosting people (ReInvent Inc) wipe out and reinstalling DNN 4:09 on one hosting.

I now have problem finding my page templates in the new page window.

I checked in my Qute-FTP and the files are both in _default/templates and in the portalNo/templates.

I found that the dotnetnuke folder has been omitted, thus the path is different:

To ReInvent:
You have not installed the “DotNetNuke” folder this time, thus the path is:
/MudgeerabaHilltons/Portals/_default/Templates

Rather than:

/MudgeerabaHilltons/dotnetnuke/Portals/_default/Templates

Could this have any effect on finding templates in the folder?

Cheers

for sure the portal needs to check for the templates in the correct folder, if the lookup path is wrong, this might be caused by multiple portal aliases or sth like this (I am not aware of any issue in this area in the lateste versions though). Which DotNetNuke version are you running?

Interesting. . . I've just been testing this in 4.8.9, 4.8.4, 4.8.2 and have the same problem.

When adding a new page the template folder is set to templates
The Page Template drop down list does not even show the dnn default page template - adding any further templates into the templates folders also does not show up.

I tried going to the file manager in both admin and host menus and selected synchronise recursive but that also did not solve the problem.

Has something changed in the use of page templates in recent versions that I should be aware of or is there a bug here?

Thanks,

Lee

AFAIK this is an issue in DNN 4.8.0-4.9.0, which has been solved in 5.0.0, but unfortunately not backported to 4.9.0.

This is a mission critical feature. Any chance you can shed some light on a fix for us? Our website is 5,000+ pages and we're just now populating. Imagine my disapointment.
