I ended up giving up on both modules and just using an HTML module, makes no sense. I guess I will have to move away from DNN as a solution, I cannot afford to offer it to my clients if I can't get it working properly.

I just wanted to circle back on this, seems my problem was with the upgrade. I did not realize that web.config does not update automatically but rather you have to manually make the changes to release.config for things to work. Seems like there should be a better solution, but once I made the changes everything worked fine.

I am having this issue myself and it's only affecting internet explorer!

All links work fine in firefox but when ie is in use and advanced articles tries to serve up a pdf file or something it gives the "Resource Cannot be Found" error .. I'm absolutely stumped, I've seen several conversations when I google for this error specifically involving linkclick.aspx but so far I've not found a resolution for it, just lots of people scratching their heads..

I don't get why it works consistantly in firefox and fails consistantly with ie

Some additional information: the issue appears to be sporadic with IE ... I've never seen the error yet in firefox but shortly after posting this it started working in IE for a while then stopped again ... my only theory is

1. The hosting provider is doing some maintenance ..

2. Someone is in the module (advanced articles in this case) and maybe some tables or locked, or something is happening while that person is making edits

The thing though is that they are working on a separate instance of the module from what I'm reviewing ... it's just the only theory I have at this time.

I too have this problem and I actually have it opposite.  It works with IE but if I try to run it on Firefox, the link changes but nothing changes on the screen.  But I could go back and the site would work normally again.  Weird bug...
