I know that my vote doesn't count in the DNN world but personally I would prefer hearing both the good and the bad with regards to anything regarding DNN. This includes third party modules, hosting, or the core itself.
I certainly don't want to disrespect Cathal but in my opinion this is why DNN needs a non-corp website, forums, etc. I don't want to NOT hear about problems with something regarding DNN for whatever reason. If the poster is full of crap then the the provider/company can also post. Of course, if the poster is not using proper language, shows a lack of class, or refuses to give it up even after the subject in question has answered that would be a different story.
I will also note that there have been other providers (one of which was also a hoster) who have faced threads with huge numbers of posts and that was never a problem. Seems kind of like a double standard to me.
Again, I mean no disrespect to Cathal but that post kind of hit a sour note with me.
FYI this is a non-corp website, and I'm certainly not being paid by anyone.
With my post, all I was doing was applying our forum rules "3. No Flaming or Trolling. ", as I'd seen a lot of posts on the topic in a short time, including a daily updated dialog, which meets my description of flaming/trolling.
I agree that it's good that community members know both pro's and con's of dotnetnuke related products/services , so I typically let through posts as long as they are not slanderous (dotnetnuke can be sued for allowing people to make slanderous comments - in the eyes of the law it's our infrastructure so it's our responsibility - that's why some other forums do not allow mention of companies/services) . I do try to take care to keep this forum mostly on topic so will continue to request users remain on topic when I feel it's approriate.
