I notice that I have tried to download various modules and versions of the DNN framework over the last few days and Codeplex is off and on.  It is not letting me download 4.9.1 right now.  Just get a spinning ring.  Anyone else have this problem? This is not good.  Perhaps we should mirror over at sourceforge?

I have been using CodePlex for nearly 2 years and this is the first time I have ever had this happen. A bit frustrating tho...

Maybe adding DotNetNuke pushed them to the limits of their capabilities.  They may need more hardware now.

I suspect you're correct John. DotNetNuke is the most downloaded application according to weekly statistics, with the (relatively) new Oxite application as no.2, so they probably need to assign more servers/bandwidth to codeplex. I've not had any problems, but I'm on UK time, so probably access the site during quieter periods than US users. I'd expect Microsoft to resolve this quickly, as they don't want any bad publicity on their main opensource site.

The CodePlex infrastructure is part of the larger Microsoft infrastructure (it's not a separate farm)... so I'd be fairly assured that it's not a hardware or bandwidth issue.  They chuckled when we asked about capacity a few months ago *grin*.  But things do happen from time to time and I've experienced dozens of occasions like this with SourceForge the last year.  It used to be that almost half of the time, files uploaded had intermittent availability for hours (which made it hard to verify they were correctly posted).  We had -0- such issues in the migration, which was encouraging.

If you have any issues at all with CodePlex, I encourage you to ping the CodePlex team... they are very responsive.
