Hi Alex,

Thanks for the feedback and for bringing this up in the chat, but I'm sure most here will agree with me that Scott's response is unacceptable, Testing has been "ongoing" on and off for a year or more, this project needs to be managed properly, it has become abundantly clear that the project team either does not have the ability or the commitment to do the work required to release this module.

I see only two possible options for this projects future, either replace the team or cancel the project completely.

I could not agree more. If Chris is blinded by ego to stay on this project going nowhere fast then the powers that be need to kick his arse off this project. Period. Clearly is has no ability or/and time to manage and lead a project. Since he refuses to do the proper thing who can we bring this up with on the board to force a hand in this matter?

I agree, it seems dead.  I know a few people have made the plea if we as developer are fixing our own version, we should be helping the DNN team with our fixes and that is absolute BullS*ht.  What have you done for us lately?  We've been jerked around for a year or more on this forum project.  We feel deceived, lied to, and like red headed step children.

I have been working with our team here to fix all the issues because the forum is causing a major lack us use on our website.  If and when we get these fix we will abolutely share the version with the end users of DNN, but we surely are not turning all our hard work over to the DNN team.

Best Regards, Dave VanderWekke

>What a joke.  Yet another tease.  I am done with this BS.  I agree that its time to fork the forums

no need to fork it - simply open it up as full open source and let the community that uses it fix it rather then just testing it. There is no need for the forum module to be on a restrictive open source plan as the frame work is - open it fully to the users and allow them to post fixes and patches drectly to other users.

The current system does not work so change the system. Put it over to source forge or the like and allow updates and downloads of the code on a as required basis.  In other words extend the project team to include every one. The out come can't be any worse then it is now.

(silly me I still click the notification box)
