I have to agree too. Funny that this module would not like the letter 'a' in a folder name. This is a serious oversight. I am on the latest DNN 6.01.03 with the Documents module 5.0.0 and this is still an issue. I had to change a subfolder called "Finance_Docs" to "Fin_Docs" just to overcome this problem. Not cool guys!

It is these little bugs that is already pushing me away from DNN. I paid for professional but I have no confidence that my yearly fee is going toward fixing these little issues.

I also see the category lists still do not work after a couple of support tickets and a promise that the next version will fix it. Another bug in this module! I referred to http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F... to make sure i am doing it correctly. It still does not save the "Use Category List" check box and will not show any categories in the pull down. A message below states "There are no lists available for use. Use the List Editor to manage lists". Did that yet still no joy. (I will post this in the relevant thread. I just wanted to convey the frustration with DNN bug fixes and the Document module in general.)

Mike,

I am still not sure what the issue is with the folder path, as personally it is working on a number of sites that I have. The current version in development will support 6.x ONLY which will allow me to have a smaller area of testing and I will do everything I can get to that squared away.

The same goes for lists, I'm hoping that getting to 6.x only will help pinpoint that one as well.

Will you notify us through this thread when a new version is available? What is the timeline?

I submitted a support ticket with DNN on this issue in the hopes that you guys can work together to solve this. It is obvious that other methods of testing and fixing the problem were not fruitful. I am hoping for a different approach.

As you might have guessed, this is extremely frustrating. I do appreciate your efforts but this does set our perception of this whole platform back significantly and I may not be able to justify the expense of Pro next year. I want to stay on DNN though and this is a good opportunity for DNN to retain a long-term customer.

Thanks,

I would like ot add more info. I spoke to DNN support as I am on the pro version. They logged 2 bug reports for me. One deals with this issue. What we found is that if I create folders in my portal root with the letter 'A' in it, it works fine. Since I wanted to be more organized about file management within my Portal folder, I created a folder in my portal root called "Documents" and I place other folders in there like "HR_Docs", "Mkt_Docs" and of course "Finance_Docs". After some testing with DNN support, we determined that this problem happens only when nesting 1 or more deep from the portal root.

I hope this helps you narrow down the problem. I eagerly await news on a beta or final release that fixes this problem so I can move forward with my intranet plans.

I am running into the same problem.

The default folder is not sticking. Has there been any resolution to this?
