1 - There are a ton of bugs fixed in 5.1 that's why you should move. See roadmap in support.dotnetnuke.com

2 - 5.1 is yet to be proved in production, it probably really needs to be out there for a month for people to gain confidence in the new functionality. Hopefully public Beta testing may reduce this timescale. We shall see.

3 - I always recommend eval'ing the product yourself if at all possible.

4 - If 4.x suits you could easily upgrade to 4.9.4 and take your time upgrading to the 5.x platform once you are happy it is right for you.

I hope thoose tons of known bugs fixed in DNN 5.1 are also fixed in DNN 4.9.4 ?

Johan,

there are no plans of bacckporting fixes or features - except there would be a severe security risk and a situation, where a larger number of portals are unable to upgrade.

so for a customer on the professional dotnetnuke 4.9.4 edition the option to implement thoose known bugfixes is?

There will be no patches, i.e. the only option will be an upgrade to DNN 5.1.0 PE.
