I've searched the forums and other sources for an answer to this but came up empty.  Wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

I'm writing a custom module and noticed that the tooltips that used to come up when hovering over the help icon on the "DNN Label" control no longer popup.  If I click the help icon the message associated with the .Help resource entry is displayed as it always has.

The tooltips do display if I install the module on a DNN 4.8.4 installation.  It seems that this started with one of the 4.9 versions.  I have tested on 4.9.3 & 4.9.4 and no tooltip.

I do notice that some of the core modules have the same problem and some do not.  For example, the User Management control where you manage your account fields the tooltips work but on the User Settings control that part of the Forums module the tooltips do work.

Anyone have any insight as to what changed and how I make sure the tooltips work?

Thanks

Chuck

Chuck,

Although I'm not 100% famiilar with what might have changed, I have 2 recommendations for you that might make this really easy to spot.

1.) Run a diff on the LabelControl.ascx file from the 4.8.x and 4.9.x versions of DNN, and see what the changes are

2.) Look at the localization file for the parts that are working, see if there was by chance a newly added localization key.

Mitch,

Excellent thoughts!  Why didn't I think of that

OK,

I just ran a diff on the 4.8.4 and 4.9.4 version of LabelControl.ascx and LabelCOntrol.vb.  The only difference is that the comment line containing the Copyright dates in LabelControl.vb were updated to 2009.  No actual code differences.

I think I'm gonna try the skin.  I'm going to install "DNN-Blue" from 4.8.4 on my 4.9.4 install and see what happens.  Stay tuned...

Just an update...  Changing the skin didn't solve the problem and I checked the resource files and don't really see any difference that could be attributed to the change in behavior.  I logged this in Gemini (DNNP-10316).
