Perhaps a small addition is needed to the DNN install instructions (on the download page) when installing on localhost .

I think a line or two about Virtual Directory "Default Documents" (Virtual Directory Properties) is needed.
The published install method will fail if "enable def doc" is set (default) and default.aspx is not added.

It actually beggars belief that MS would not include their own format in this list but they do not (in XP)

Hope this helps a liitle.

Windows XP and IIS 5 are updates of the Windows 2000 OS, not rewrites and there was no reason to use Default.aspx as a default document when they were developed. Current, supported, operating systems and IIS versions have Default.aspx in the default document list by default. In addition, most ASP.NET hosts will configure it as the default document anyway. Not sure there's an urgency to rewrite the documentation to mention this, but it could be part of a troubleshooting paper. If the docs ever get updated... :)

Jeff

HI Jeff

Thanks for the clarification. I have to say it stopped me for a while.
