That's brilliant, thank you very much guys

I'll try to have a go at this today and I'll let you know how I get on. I am sorry to keep posting all these questions but I want this site to look as good as I can get it - it's my first DNN site and I am definitely not a designer.

Many thanks,
John

Hi,

Neat solution, but unfortunately, you can't deselect the EventName column, so that always comes out in a separate table column. That may work, depending on the design requirements, but not if you want a flow-based layout rather than a tabular one.

It would be good to see an option on the EventList (or a different view) that rendered each event in a different div, with the contents of the div templated. It could easily be done by replacing the GridView control in EventList.ascx with a Repeater.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the suggestions. There are a couple of requests for improvements to the list view on CodePlex, so it would be great if you could add your suggestions there.

We are unlilkely to change the GridView to a simple repeater, because we have some folks (including myself) who use the sorting capability of the GridView. However, when we come to review the templating of the list views, we'll try to make as flexible as possible. Alternatively you could use the Reports module to create complex views if the Events module doesn't provide exactly what you need now.

Cheers
Roger

Hi,

Just made the following changes to the 5.0.4 code base:-

The list/day views have now been updated so that no column is mandatory. This gives the flexibility to format as requested here by using the templating capability of the description column. Since the Event Title column also showed various icons (recurrence, importance, notification, enrollment), tokens for these have now been added (recurrenceicon, importanceicon, remindericon, enrollicon) as well as a label and text for notification (reminderlabel and reminder).

Cheers
Roger
