Hi,

When I add a blog entry it doesn't show up in the View_Blog or Recent_Entries modules for 10-15 mins.

The entry immediately shows up in Blog_List (represented by a (X) after the blog name).

The entry also immediately shows up via Search_Blog or the Blog_Archive calendar.

Any ideas?

I'm pretty new to using the DNN blog module myself, but my guess is that your blog entry simply doesn't get indexed right away. 

This being a scheduled task would explain why it takes 10-15 minutes for posts to appear.  I think you can manually trigger your content to be indexed by either restarting the application or by going to the host menu, select "Search Admin," and then click the "Re-Index Content" option.  A third option, if you want one:  Host > Schedule > Search Engine Scheduler > Run Now.

thanks for the info. Sam. I tried those suggestions and still no luck.

I installed the Blog [4.0] module on my local instance of DNN and the Blog worked as I would have expected - showing the entries immediately in all areas with the date and time I entered them.

The problem seems to be on my hosted instance of DNN. The Host settings you mentioned are the same on my local and hosted instances of DNN.

I found the entries that aren't appearing in the View_Blog or Recent_Entries by using the Blog_Archive calendar. The entries were there but with date/times in the future. One of them looks like 24 hours ahead. I assume that when that date/time rolls over they'll show up.

Looks like more research for me :(

realised now that under blog settings - date and time options - date format was set to GMT which must adjust the date/time. returned this setting to [Friday, April 2, 2010] and entries now working fine. Still not sure why original 15 minute delay was occuring but it's not now.

there might have been a caching effect occurred before, in settings of any display module your are using, did you specify a cache time?
