Update: I had same issue on two web sites, one in production and one in construction. After I change skin on cunstroction site back to default I was able to create new portal without problems. I'll try same during night with production site and report here afterwards. Question: Did anyone of you who hade same issue found any relation between this problem and custom skins or skin objects?

Problem solved for me! After I reset skin on all tabs and reset all modules containers to default, everything is working just fine! Beacause I could not achieve this when I reset skin but not containers, I suspect on one custom skin object. I'll do some more testing and if confirmed will report that issue to manufacturer for further investigation.

I did not succsead in error replication! Problem is solved (for me) but I don't know what was the cause.
Please find steps I take:

Site No.1; host language; en-US, site language hr-HR (could not change it because of localisation enabled):
  • Reset skin and all containers to default
  • Create new site (child) - OK, no errors
  • Applied just some custom containers, created new site - OK
  • Applied custom skin, created new site - OK
  • Aplied all custom skin and containers to main (0) site
  • Created new site; OK - no errors

Site No. 2; host language; en-US; site language; hr-HR

By my oppinion - problem is not resolved because cause is not identified, but maybe those steps could help to someone in the future,,,

Same problem again. This time I can't solve problem with mentioned methods. I'm afraid that problem is contected with new localization functions, because it appears both times after applying localization to site. Every module on newly created sites by default have enabled and locked module editing rights for all users.

Mladen, are you using DNN 5.5.1?
Did you by accident enable "content localization"?

Cheers from Germany,
