I am completely new to dnn so I assume I am doing something stupid during setup.  Sorry if this is in the wrong category and I did try searching the forums and Google before posting.

I am running windows 7 ultimate 64bit.  I am able to get dnn installed (It took a lot of work the first time).  I can login as host and admin, I can pretty much do anything I want after I install it.  The problem is if I close the browser or don't use the program for awhile I can not log back in.  I cant even bring up the dnn home page.

When using firefox I get a message stating: "The page isn't redirecting properly.  Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."  IE states: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

This is when trying to go to http://localhost/dnnstcs or http://localhost/dnnstcs/ or http://localhost/dnnstcs/Default.aspx

I have tried restarting the computer, stopping and starting within IIS.  My only solution so far is to delete the dnn directory, delete the application within IIS and start over.

I have tried removing IIS and sql server 2008 express r2 with management console.  I redownloaded the dnn install zip.  Again I can run through the setup and get everything working fine until I get logged out.

I assume that perhaps I need to do something after I first login maybe?

Like I said I am completely new to dnn and just begining web design anyway.  I have used dreamweaver but wanted to give dnn a try.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.  Sorry if this has already been answered but I couldn't find it.  I have seen the sites that deal with the redirect issue such as: http://weblogs.asp.net/christoc/archive/2008/06/19/dotnetnuke-homepage-won-t-load-keeps-redirecting.aspx.  Nothing at those sites seemed to work.

Again thanks.

Clearing the browser cache would fix it.  Try using the system name or IP instead of localhost.

Thanks.

I sorta got caught up in some other things and have not been able to mess with dnn much.  However it did work itself out, although it very well could have been clearing the cache.
