Hi,

Working on DNN ver4.8.2 and having an issue related to session. I have made portal setting as Form Authentication TimeOut is 120 mins and Session TimeOut is 20 mins. If client doesn't perform any activity over 20 mins, the session get expired and values in session variables are lost.

How can I be able to figure out session time out and notify the client about it?

Please help!

Cathal,

thank you for the reply. But that's not what is required. I found third party control componentArt which is providing a callback control that bypass the page life cycle using httpHandler but it only implemented or work for .aspx pages. As DNN i have custom module containing user controls. I want to check session timeout when user clicks on the link and request sent to server where session variables are lost on session timeout. that is what needed to check and prompt user to login [by giving password again in dialogBox] again using AJAX AuthenticationServices.

Hope I have cleared what is required.

Please Help!

Note: DotNetNuke doesn't use session's - the article I pointed to you is about configuring forms authentication timeout. When your forms auth cookie timeouts DotNetNuke automatically redirects the new page request to a login page (if that page is not available for anonymous users)
