The problem on human friendly url it's caused by the inclusion of language on the url.

If you upgrade your old dnn to 5.5 the settings on database may be wrong and cause this issue.

To solve it:

SELECT PortalID, SettingName, SettingValue, CreatedByUserID, CreatedOnDate, LastModifiedByUserID, LastModifiedOnDate, CultureCode
FROM PortalSettings
WHERE (SettingName = 'EnableUrlLanguage')

and change or add the setting for your portal with this values:

Portalid = your portal id
SettingName= 'EnableUrlLanguage'
SettingValue= 'False'
CultureCode= the main culture code from portal or NULL

Restart application and.. voila.. friendly url again.
