I'm running an install of DNN 5.2.  The site has had no problems since I first put it up in August.  However, beginning this morning and continuing intermittantly throughout the day, I get redirected to the .../install/UnderConstruction.htm page and cannot access the site.  I try back later and am often able to access the site.  On one occassion, I accessed the site, but was redirected when I attempted to login.

Not sure what is happening, but the site was working fine until today.  Aside from a few content (Copy) updates, no changes have been made.

This typically will occur when there is a connection problem with the database. Is the database hosted on the same server as the website?

Let me follow up from that angle.

Thanks for the help, Matt Fette.

 Chris,

This has been happening to one of my sites that is installed on the server, and yes, the database is on the same server.  However, I have several other DNN-based sites on the same server with no issues.  I can even use the SQL Management tools to connect to the database of the site that says "Under Construction".  Before it would come back up in a few minutes, however today it was down for almost 9 hours.  I made a slight change to the web.config file (I added a carriage return to the end of it), saved the web.config file and immediately the site came back online.

Any thoughts where to look from here?

Cheers
Dave

Same thing happened with my site as well.  No matter which page I tried it would re-direct to the under construction page.  Not sure if my provider did something that caused DNN to fail.

I have followed Dave's procedure of modifying the config file (added a space) and saved it.  It is back up now.  Editing the config file causes a shutdown and re-start of the site in IIS.  DNN should not be re-directing if everything is back to normal.
