Hi,

You get a new file named ProductDetail.ascx.Portal-0 because you have clicked on the "Site" pencil at the main DNN Language Editor page and you have used "System" for the Catalog.ascx file! Please read this post for more infos about the behavior of the three pencils. This is not related to the Store module, it's a common feature of DNN. Most of times a quick search in the right forum give you more detail on a feature.

Whatever the option you use (System, Host or Site), the changes should be displayed! Did you try to logoff to verify if your changes are applied for "nornal" users (not SuperUser/Host account)?

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Gilles,

Thank you for the link to the explanation of the pencils; in fact, the explanation merely clarified what I had inferred from reading the pencil names.  I assure you, I have made NO edits at the "System" level - all my edits were made using the "Site" pencil since I only wanted to modify the local site.

Yes, I did view the site externally from another browser (the practical equivalent of logging off).  Some of the changes were displayed = I successfully changed the "Search" dropdowns on the store main module.  Some were not - I never got the field descriptions in the "Product" screens to change.  These are impossible to verify by logging off because you have to log in to see the admin screens.  Either the thing is broken (I suppose I could re-download and reinstall) or ProductDetail.ascx isn't where you rename the fields.  Frankly, I've become so frustrated with this that I'm looking at other shopping cart options:  NB_Store, and a 3rd party "freemium" cart called Ecwid, which now has a DNN widget available.  I've used that in a WordPress site and it isn't too bad.

Hi,

It's up to you to use another product. David Lee from NevoWeb is a friend of me and he could help you with NB_Store. This product have more options than the Store module, it depends of your needs. The Store module can be simpler to use if his features are enought for your project. I never tried Ecwid, then I don't have an opinion.
If you want, you can create a SuperUser account and send me the account infos at glepigocher AT yahoo.fr, I could look at this problem. If it's a bug, it could help other.

EDIT: After reading the history of this post, I have seen than your website is not online! May be we could try a remote assistance session?
