The gateway support people told me they were seeing an error about unsupported compression and the logs have plenty of that error to match.

Turning off compression fixed it so it sure sounds like it's related to the compression bits.. but if it's related to the standard friendly url writer then thats fine by me too.

I continued today's 5.6.1 dramas with trouble in that all PDF dwnloads were no longer working and just generating 404 domain not found errors.

I tried everything to resolve that but had to give up and restore back to 5.5.1, whereupon everything magically worked fine again.

Not sure what else I can add.

What drives me crazy is that there are major problems that we all may be not aware and that could cause visitors to leave the DNN websites.

Not all admins check the event logs or try all functions every time they upgrade.

Poor beta testing imho.

Remember that when the next beta cycle comes around Costas ... its not about poor beta testing ... more a poor number of people willing to actually do beta testing --- ironically --- this compression issue was not reported at all during the beta cycle that im aware of --- sad hey

I'm still running the rolled back version... Didnt want to mess with compression settings and menus. Is there an updated version of DNN coming out to correct this problem.... um... correctly?

Why not just disable the compression in HOST ? Takes less than a minute.
