viechinguyen,

I am not sure if that was the issue.  Since you didn't use the users name or quote the post, I wasn't sure.

i used to copy - paste what i want to quote then put in between the [quote] tokens. But since this forum doesn't display posts on posting page, nor it has no 'quick answer' function (like InvisionBoard) , i tend not to use quotes. Maybe you should consider these functions in the next release?

FYI : If you click the "Reply" button on a particular post it will actually have the post you're responding to at the top. You just have to expand it as it's collapsed by default. Hope that helps.

Thanks Presstopia. I didn't notice it.

By the way, i would like to ask the coding team: what features will be on the next release?

There are no features added with this release.  The closest is that we are now using a new core server control for paging.  It is included in the code with the module to avoid dependancy issues with older dnn versions.  This is marked for deprecation eventually.

The reason is we want to fix things and not bring in more possible points of error.  Many, many things have been enhanced to make the upgrade more important than if we actually added features.  The performance is probably about 5 times better than the last release, and the search indexing has been changed so it too is more efficient.  Currently, the feature set is very rich we just have to make sure they all work as expected.  We are taking suggestions on features but...

  1. Suggestions are just that.
  2. The suggestions has to work for the module/community as a whole, not just one person.
  3. Even if a suggestion is a good idea, it may take 6 months to implement.
  4. Newsgroups were supported, but it was removed because of a dependancy on a proprietary dll, we are looking at how we can bring this back and still distribute without licensing restirctions. (I assume writing our own NNTP)

I can say the following will occur but I can not give a timeline (for most):

  1. All files will pass through the core file manager (not gallery upload).
  2. Dependancy on the gallery will go away, attempting more of a provider model
  3. The blog module is removed as of next version
  4. Forum Themes have been changed to make it easier for desingers (as well as css file documented)
  5. There will probably never be core support for the MS Access database

It may not seem that way, but suggestions and bugs found that are posted here I do keep track of.  I think I answer almost every single post so I hope you folks see that I take what you post very seriously and I am doing what I can to make sure you feel supported.
