So my DNN portal has the default search box in the upper right corner of the web site, and we have version 3 of the store installed (just installed it today).  My problem is that when you search for a product using the site search box, no products are found.

My question is:  is this by design?  Is there a way to make it work?  I thought there was an interface to allow the search box search info in added modules.

Any advice would be helpful.   Thanks.

In the Community Edition of DNN, it's up to the module developer to support the search, not the other way around. They need to support DNN's iSearchable interface, if it doesn't then there's no way for content from the module to show up in the results. Only the DNN Pro version and above have a spider that can index the pages without the module having to support the interface.

Ah... yes, now I remember.  So I'm guessing the current version of the store is not implementing that.  Ok, at least I have an answer and can proceed.  Thanks.

Hi Thomas,

The Store module implement the ISearchable interface! Because you can place more than one Store Catalog module on your portal pages, you have to define which Store Catalog module provide catalog informations to the DNN search provider. Never activate more than one Store Catalog module with this feature or your products will be displayed several times in the search results!
Go to the settings of the main Store Catalog module, verify than 'Enable Content Indexing' is checked. Go to Host > Search Admin and click on 'Re-Index Content'.

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Excellent information, and I thank you for taking the time answer.

However, I ran through the steps you gave.  The Catalog was set to be indexed and we only have one (as far as I can tell.)  I then went to Search Admin and clicked Re-Index and it reported that it indexed the without errors.

But still no products when searching.

Sounds like I have something fundementally wrong.  Any other possible suggestions?
