I have installed DNN 5.6.1 on my machine successfully. I need to install custom modules on my DNN site. There is no zip file in the source code. It only contains mymodule.dnn file, dnnModule.targets and other source code.  My question is how I can install it? Using .dnn file?

Have you tried compiling the solution in Release mode. If the modules were built using Visual Starter Kits, they have built-in scripts to create installation package. This usually happens when you build in 'Release' mode.
